Our ethos is about growing together as a group of volunteers in a supportive environment, and every session begins with tea around the fire. We garden using permaculture principles of working with nature, and often cook a lunch using produce we have grown. The group has crafted award-winning gardens for Sandringham Flower Show, and is currently working with Cottenham Parish Youth Council to create an accessible sensory garden to benefit the community. We've worked with Anglia Ruskin University students to design and build therapeutic shelters for use in our therapy garden, and this year we'll be working with a Cambridge-based artist to explore the theme of Shelter.
We cook together and donate surplus vegetables through Cambridge Sustainable Food to benefit food bank users. We also do outdoor wood-working with green wood or waste wood like pallets, to make seats and raised beds. If you would like to get involved either as someone who lives with a brain injury or mental health need or as a volunteer please get in touch with Simon or John. We're always interested in working with other community groups, so if you have an idea of how we might work together please get in touch. Check out our Instagram to see what we're up to.
