Our grass-fed cows are Red Polls, East Anglia’s traditional rare breed. We currently have a herd of ten, with another on the way. Our cows spend as much of year year grazing out in the field as possible, and eat only grass and hay grown on the farm, plus natural supplements like seaweed.

Organic grass-fed beef is an ethical choice not just because of the higher animal welfare standards applied, but for the planet too. A lot of energy, water and land is used to produce and transport cattle feed for grain-fed cattle. These inputs are greatly reduced for cows like ours.

We are constantly making improvements on the farm, and at the moment we are looking at options for 'wilding' some of our pasture (allowing it to develop into scrub land, with shrubby bushes and trees), and also mob-grazing techniques.
